Beloved Readers, Experience shows that everyone faces suffering in some form—whether physical, mental, or both. In fact, suffering is not only inevitable but often necessary for growth, since every transition in life carries its share of challenges. At the same time, suffering humbles us, softening pride and dissolving vanity.  Scriptures and words of Mahatmas remind us that suffering arises from past Karmas. Within the limited freedom available to us, we can choose to endure it patiently while invoking the grace of God—the indwelling Reality. One saint beautifully expressed it this way: “The enjoyment of pleasure and pain in this physical body is determined by our past Karmas. Thought by thought, action by action, we have demanded the present body and mental equipment. Indeed, even while we are alive and acting here now, we are shaping the future life...
